Class Updates
NO CLASS Tuesday 14th February 2012
Unfortunately there will be no class on Tuesday 14th February 2012.
Apparently there is a problem with the lights in there that needs sorting and the contractors will need to put scaffolding up to access them. Unfortunately the sports hall is booked so I am unable to offer other accommodation. Please can you arrange to train at another class that week: Monday at Beare Green, Thursday at Ashcombe School or Saturday at Dorking Sports Centre.

YHA Forest of Dean
(St Briavels Castle)
The Castle, St Briavels, Gloucestershire, GL15 6RG
As a moated Norman Castle, YHA St Briavels Castle has a large dry moat, spacious lawn and its own archery range, where the on-site activities take place - as well as a chapel used as an indoor activity space.
Sleeping Arrangements: Dorm style accommodation - you will be allocated a room prior to the course. There are eight bedrooms, accommodating a total of 70 guests. Most bedrooms still have original medieval features, and include a prison, stately room and bedrooms over 3 floors in the twin 13th century towers. The largest bedroom has sixteen beds, and the smallest has four.
For breakfast and evening meals, the hostel has a medieval style dining room that comfortably seats fifty people.
Upstairs is a lounge, originally rumoured to be King John’s bedroom, which is fitted out with comfy armchairs, a games cupboard and library. Downstairs there is a smaller lounge located in the old kitchen of the castle, which has three sofas and an additional eating space.
Situated in the quiet village of St Briavels, the hostel overlooks the Wye Valley, and is located away from busy main roads. The main castle area is surrounded by the original castle walls, making St Briavels Castle extremely safe and secure.
YHA St Briavels has a fully stocked bar selling local ales, cider and a variety of wines and spirits. Please ask about our barrels of local ale and cider.
A detailed plan for activities will be given with all information's in a pack when a deposit is paid for the course.
All our activities are risk assessed and our instructors carry CRB checks as standard as well First Aid qualifications.
