NO CLASS THIS THURSDAY 13TH OCTOBER 2011
This is due the hall being unavailable to hire this week due a school activity. Sorry for the late notice I hope this is not too much of an inconvenience. If you wish to train at any other clubs please check both the Kickboxkarate Website www.kickboxkarate.com or the SKF website www.skfkarate.com. You are welcome to attend any of the other classes we teach.
Saturday Sparing Class
The Saturday sparing class will be on this Saturday 15th October 2011. There will be no class on the 22nd October 2011. But we will then be back to normal on the 29th October 2011.

With a busy month in September here is an update as to what has been going on at the club!

Belgium Open 2011
6 fighters went out to compete at the WAKO Belgium Open on 24th September 2011. Thank you to all the members at the club who took part in the Fun Run and raised money for the fighters to compete.

Level 1 Intensive Point Fight Training
Sean, James and George took part in Intensive Point Fight Training in Bristol on Saturday 1st October 2011 with World and European Champion Gregorio Di Leo. The purpose of the first level training is to acquire a technical, tactical,strategic and mental base of modern Point Fight. The content of the trainings are different each time so participants can take part as many times as they want learning each time different ‘intensive pointfight secrets', this way gaining a better perspective to the Intensive pointfight mentality.

2nd Place Chloe Tullett- Great commitment to training paid off with a silver but still more work to be done back at the club if she wants to get the 1st place Gold.
James Harris- lost to the current World Champion Tom Evans by 1 point and has shown great improvement over the last year as he is getting one step closer to his current nemisis.
Sean McCarthy- 2 x 3rd place I count this as a loss as I have not been training. Success without training requires a miracle and no miracles happend this weekend! Come August I start training for the World Championships so this will not happen again. FULL STOP.

Please Note
Gradings take place during the normal class lesson times but might over run slightly for higher grades to complete their syllabus. Junior students must have all their assessments to be able to grade.
What you must bring to Grading lesson :-
• Valid Licence Book
• Appropriate uniform, with SKF badge and current belt
• Sparring equipment (see seperate grade requirment sheet)
• Payment for Grading
Fail to provide the above may result in the student being unable to grade or points deducted from their grading.
Grading Fee Juniors & Adults
£20 Coloured Belts (Grading from white belt and up)
£30 Grading to Brown Belts
(Pre-Grading White & Red Belt £10)
Gradings above Brown Belt can only be obtained on courses. Other than in special circumstances, which only senior grading instructors can authorize.

Beare Green Summer Demo This Saturday!
Beare Green Summer Demo This Saturday!
Calling all Kickboxkarate Students all Kids & Adults from beginners to advanced students.
Please note: There is no Saturday class on 18th June 2011 it is relocated to Beare Green Summer Demo!
We will be performing a Demo at Beare Green Summer fair this Saturday 18th June 2011. Please come along to support the club and have a great day out with the club. Bring your family and friends as anyone can join in the event.
The Demo will start at 1.00 pm and we advise that all kids come with a parent or guardian. We will also need some volunteers to help set up the gazebo and our stand if you want to help then please arrive for 11.00am. Make sure you all have your club uniform and all of your pads with you.

Italy Bestfighter WAKO World Cup
Team Kickboxkarate fight in Italy at Bestfighter WAKO World Cup
Well done to George, James, Kelly and Sean. All fighters fought extremely well.
Sean came 1st in the -63kg section having tough fights every round winning and beating a previous European champion from Italy.
Kelly entering in the black belt section won her first ever fight in the advanced section.
George and James both had tough fights in their individuals but gained great experience and it will give them more to skills to take to tournaments in the future.
Well done to the team all the fighters had a great trip and they all look forward to the next one!
