Special Mention: The aim of this award is to recognise those who have started to enter tournaments throughout the year but I would like to take the time to mention these fighters as they compete week in week out both nationally and internationally and these are their top results this year:

James Harris- who won the Athens Challenge this year and silver medallist at the Italian Open

George Harris- who became British Champion this year and silver medallist at the Italian Open

Gem Upfold- British Champion, Bronze medallist at the junior Europian Championships and quarter finalist at the Adult World Championships this year

Kelly Thaxter- her last year competing in the intermediate section Gold medal at the Dutch Open this year

Wako World Championships 2011

Wako World Championships 2011

Three members from the club Jacey Cashman, Gem Upfold & Sean McCarthy went out to the WAKO World Championships in Dublin from the 20th to the 26th of November. Unfortunately we did not pick up any medals this time around but it was still a great experiance to compete for your country at an international level.

Kickboxkarate Ready 2 Rumble Fight Night

On the 13^th of November we provided a fight night for students that will allow them to step up and challenge other fighters within the club for a challenge match. We had 16 fights on the night and it was great event with over 50 spectators attending to support the Kickboxkarate students taking part. Here is a list of results on the night along with pictures.

Grading important info!

Grading important info:

You will need to have 3 tags or more to grade at next weeks grading. We will be doing tag week this week. We also have a grading practice on Sunday that you will receive a tag for taking part details to follow. You will need to let your instructor know what class and day you will be grading on and book in to grade at that class. If you do not have 3 tags+ or you have not booked in then you will not be able to grade.

Please forgive me if any of the results are wrong or there is anyone who I did not mention as we had between Kickboxkarate and SKF about 40 fighters in total who attended. Thank you to parents, coaches and supporters for your help backing our fighters on the day.

These 2 fighters have been committed to getting up and training at 6.30am completing between 9-10 hours of training a week. They got silver in Italy but both of them were not far off gold. If they keep putting the work in then they will go far in future years

NO CLASS THIS THURSDAY 13^TH OCTOBER 2011

This is due the hall being unavailable to hire this week due a school activity. Sorry for the late notice I hope this is not too much of an inconvenience. If you wish to train at any other clubs please check both the Kickboxkarate Website www.kickboxkarate.com or the SKF website www.skfkarate.com. You are welcome to attend any of the other classes we teach.

Saturday Sparing Class

The Saturday sparing class will be on this Saturday 15^th October 2011. There will be no class on the 22^nd October 2011. But we will then be back to normal on the 29^th October 2011.
